Covid-19 Safety

The Covid-19 pandemic has introduced new challenges to the care sector, and understandably there are many people that are concerned about the safety of their loved ones that are receiving care. The safety of our staff and service users is of the utmost importance to us, and we are doing all that we can to ensure we are able to continue providing our high-quality of care during the pandemic.

Personal Protective Equipment

We have been following guidelines on PPE use from Public Health England throughout the pandemic to ensure the safety and protection of all our staff and service users. All of our staff receive mandatory training in Infection Control prior to employment and have now received additional training regarding the safe use and removal off PPE, and handwashing.

Masks, gloves, and aprons are worn at all calls and all staff are supplied with hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes. Additional PPE (face shields, goggles, and gowns) is provided to our care workers should any service user be required to self-isolate as a result of either a positive Covid test or close contact with someone with Covid.

Ongoing Support

Our staff are currently undergoing weekly Covid tests and are will be receiving the vaccine in line with government guidelines. This will further reduce the risk to any service users. However, full PPE will still be worn in accordance with Public Health England guidelines.

We have a reliable supplier for PPE to ensure we have ongoing PPE stocks as well as backup stocks should there be any future issues with the supply chain.

We would like to thank the NHS and our Local Authorities (Derby City Council and

Derbyshire County Council) for all their support throughout the pandemic.
